[vi]+258(last colophon), endpaper sketch map; cr. 8vo; red cloth, spine and upper board lettered and ruled in black, the boards a trifle canted, top fore-corners faintly bruised; name in ink and bookseller's sticker on upper pastedown, hinge tender near centre, scattered foxing (heavier on outer leaves); Angus & Robertson, Sydney, 1937. First Australian edition. Loder p. 232. *Lacking the dust wrapper. Bony's fifth case, set in a country town near Broken Hill, New South Wales. Also serialised (prior or simultaneously) in The Australian Journal, with the final part appearing on 1 October 1937.
