About This Item

London: Chatto & Windus, 1971. Large octavo, hardcover, 240 pp., plates. Slight browning of dust-jacket and edges yet an attractive copy. Colonel Sir Hugh Boustead began his career by deserting as a midshipman from the Royal Navy in 1915 to see service with the South African Scottish in France, where he fought as a private soldier and junior officer from the Somme to the Armistice. Later service included the Sudan camel Corps and restoring the Emperor of Ethiopia to his throne during the Second World War.
