Dark brown calf with gilt-stamped black morocco spine label. Four raised bands on spine. Some light rubbing to leather at corner tips. Page edges flecked brown. Decorative bookplate of former owner on front free endpage. Modeled after (facsimile of) the 1742 edition of "Book on the Art of Cookery, " complete with old-time English alphabet. The book draws on recipes from Virginia households. 12mo. 276 pp. Including index. .
