About This Item

London, United Kingdom: George Newnes Limited, 1948. Bound in the publishers red cloth with contrasting black title lettering to spine. Another classic William caper from the talented Richmal Crompton. A very good copy with no inscriptions. Housed in the colourful Thomas Henry dustwrapper with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Light overall wear and a couple of small hairline tears to the edges otherwise bright and appealing. A nice example of a very early printing. Such early impressions are becoming uncommon. The first printing resplendant in the dustwrapper continues to be very elusive and almost unobtainable on the open bookselling market. Dustwrapper now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. An inexpensive alternative to that rare first printing perhaps ?. THIRD IMPRESSION. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. Illus. by Thomas Henry. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. 3rd Impression.
