Batten's copy, with his 1932 ownership signature on the front endpaper; Batten is best known for four works written or edited for Amwell, "The Best of Sheep Hunting" (1980), "The Forest and the Plain" (1984; "hunting big game around the world"), "The Formidable Game" (1983; "India, Africa, and North American bear hunting"), and "Skyline Pursuits" (1981; "sheep hunting around the world"). Phillips, p. 342. Heller 358: "The islands included Vancouver, Montague, Queen Charlotte, and Admiralty." Biscotti, p. 399 (note). Very good copy with a nice association. Original decorated gilt-stamped green cloth (rubbed), top edge gilt. (#6035).
