The Book Society, London, 1970 Vg/g dj is rather tatty, with wear to all edges, some splits and chipping/creasing. no inscription. not price-clipped. A fictionalised account of the 1820 campaign to settle the Albany district of South Africa told through the experiences of a family of Suffolk farmers emigrating to escape the grinding poverty of home. The struggle is no less hard and there is the added danger of ivory hunters and wild dogs
