The American limited edition, issued to precede the American trade edition. One of 1200 copies signed by the author. Leatherbound, gilt stamped, with an introduction by Irving on gender and structure that does not appear in any other editions. The first publication by Unicycle Press, issued with a relatively small limitation compared to the Franklin Library signed editions of Irving's last several novels. A fine copy. Please note that the glare is from unopened shrink wrap.
Synopsis
John Irving has been nominated for a National Book Award three times–winning once, in 1980, for the novel The World According to Garp. A Prayer for Owen Meany was published in 1989. In 1992, Mr. Irving was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Oklahoma. In 2000, he won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Cider House Rules –a film with seven Academy Award nominations.
