It won the overall Nestlé Smarties Book Prize in 1989 and was highly commended for the 1989 Kate Greenaway Medal. Landscape quarto. Original orange boards, spine lettered in black, pictorial endpapers. With dust jacket. Illustrated throughout in black and white and colour by Oxenbury. Head and foot of spine a little bumped; price-clipped jacket with tears to top edge and some soiling to rear panel: a near-fine copy in very good jacket.
