About This Item
Plymouth: Lupus Music, 1969. First Edition. Very Good/Very Good. First edition, first printing. Signed by Marc Bolan, and inscribed to a former owner on the front free endpaper. Bound in publisher's glazed pictorial boards, Very Good, with rubbing to extremities, light must-odor to pages. In a Very Good unclipped dust jacket with rubbing and wear at extremities. Signed by the English singer-songwriter Marc Bolan, front man of T. Rex, who died in a single-vehicle car crash at the age of 29. T. Rex was wildly popular in Britain for their psychedelic folk sound, angering some loyal fans when their line up shifted and sound mutated toward glam rock, a genre they are credited with pioneering. A fun fact: before being kicked out of school at age 15 for bad behavior, Bolan played guitar in a trio called Susie and the Hula Hoops, whose singer was none other than 12-year-old Helen Shapiro.
