About This Item
1917. A collection of four wanted posters from 1917 glued onto a numbered leaf taken from a book. The leaf measures 10" x 14 ½", is numbered 105-106 and has two wanted posters glued to each side. The person who compiled these posters cut and glued them haphazardly to the leaf. Item is in good condition with moderate creasing and toning, light soiling, light pencil marginalia and numbers written in red ink on each wanted poster. All wanted posters are dated to September or October 1917. They are in search of the following persons: Andrew Ferrario for assault with deadly weapon with intent to commit murder; J. W. Morris, occupation farm hand, hair recently clipped (reason for arrest not mentioned) ; Ed Keenan, well known in Chico, Sacramento, Gridley, Florin and northern part of California (reason for arrest not mentioned) ; Elmer C. Scott for murder, easily identified by the sag or lack of the bridge of his nose and his baritone voice; Kasmer Carl Koss for stealing currency from Wells Fargo & Company while acting as a messenger in Wisconsin. .
