Stevenson was one of the most popular and highly praised British writers during the last part of the nineteenth century. This is one of the best biographies of the great Scottish author and traveler. The author researched for 15 years to make this book going through old letters, diaries, and papers to try and define who was the real RLS and what was he like. Fighting tuberculosis most of his life he finally settled in Samoa where he produces some of his most outstanding works. A clean very presentable copy.
