Beaune. lix, [3], 492 p.: tissue-guarded frontispiece of the author, full-page and in-text illustrations, 1 2-page map; 25 cm. Dark green-black leather spine with five spine compartments between raised bands. Gilt-stamped title in second compartment and decoration in remaining compartments. Dark green morocco-grain cloth on boards; blind-ruled borders on both boards. All page edges gilt. White moire endpapers. Green ribbon bookmark. Title vignette. Blank leaf preceding half title inscribed: "Paul Perrochet souvenir de son grand-oncle Paul 1880." Lieutenant Bellot's account of the second voyage of the Prince Albert, under Captain William Kennedy, in search of Sir John Franklin in 1851. Bellot died the following year on another fruitless search for Franklin. This account was first published posthumously in Paris 1854 with a portrait and 1 map only. Arctic Bibliography, 1303-04. In Very Good+ Condition: leather spine is lightly rubbed; cloth boards somewhat more heavily rubbed; a clean and bright copy.
