Richmond, VA: State Commission on Conservation and Development, 1935. Pamphlet. 3-11pp., wraps. 8 x 5.25 in. Covers toned; top right corner of front cover creased; minor edge wear. Long poem in praise of the state of Virginia's roads, institutions, and history which are listed like attractions along a road trip (not unlike the Modern Lovers/Jonathan Richman song "Roadrunner"). Includes homages to the University of Virginia, Confederate generals, and the Founding Fathers. In 60 numbered verses (actually 61, counting verse number 21 ½). Historical allusions explained in footnotes.
