New Haven: Yale Universtiy Press. Very Good in Good+ dust jacket. 1965. Hardcover. Contains the text of 1440 manuscript of the "Tartar Relation" describing a mission to the courts of Batu Khan and Güyük Khan in 1245 dispatched by Pope Innocent IV. Also included is a discussion of the map bound in the with the Tartar Relation supposedly depicting a journey to America in 1100, but now known to be a 20th century forgery. Contains illustrations, photos, and maps (some folding). A nice clean, tight and unmarked book with no interior or exterior markings. Dust jacket in decent condition with with some shelf wear and a chip to bottom at spine and a trace of sticker residue on top corner of front panel.. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 291 pages .
