One of 504 copies numbered and signed by Williamson, this being damn near the end of the line, at 503. "An imaginative work which should not be read as the history of any particular village, and certainly not of any man or woman." Green cloth w/gilt decoration, parchment spine w/gilt lettering, 342 pages, top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, "Illustrated, twice only, by sketches from the original MS." The usual sunning to cloth cover edges, sun-yellowed spine, some tanning. An unread copy w/numerous unopened (uncut) fore-edges, internally tight and clean. .
