London: Jonathan Cape, 1930. First edition. Cloth. Very Good Indeed/Very Good. 8.5" by 6". Henry Williamson. A first edition anthology of the author's writings from 1921 to 1930. A first edition, in publisher's original unclipped dustwrapper, and with photographic frontispiece of the author.Covering author Henry Williams' writing during the nine year period between 1921 and 1930.The work concerns the history of an unnamed fictional village, and is divided into alternating chapters with different headings. The first type of chapter is identified as 'The Spirit of the Village', and concerns the people, personalities and events that combine to create this. The other type of chapter are labelled 'Air and Light of the Village and Sea', and are descriptive and poetic in nature. In the publisher's original cloth covered boards, with unclipped dustwrapper. Externally bright, with bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Discolouration to the front and rear free endpapers. Dustwrapper has some marks, with discolouration to spine. Edgewear, with one small closed tear. Chipping to head and tail of spine panel, with tape reinforcements to head and tale of spine at reverse of dustwrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Very Good Indeed
