Originally issued in London in 1808, this is the first American edition of this charming juvenile tale comparing the hard-heartedness of Austerus with the kindness and generosity of Humanus. With six full-page engravings in addition the frontispiece; additionally, a large wood-engraved device on the title and at the tail of the final page.
