A beautiful two volume collection containing an in-depth study of Venetian art and architecture, with historical sketches illustrating the development of the city in relation to its vast artistic background from its beginnings in the Lagoon region until the twentieth century. Featuring numerous colour photographs in text by Piero Codato and Massimo Venchierutti. Complete with its original illustrated slicpase. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally lovely. The dust wrapper is excellent and unclipped. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean, with only minor cockling to the first few leaves of vol. I due to minor water damage. With numerous colourful illustrations in text. Near Fine
