London: The London Printing and Publishing Company, [1852-56].. Five volumes. 4to. Contemporary tan half calf over marbled boards, spines with raised bands, gilt lettered direct to two panels. Engraved title page, 52 portraits, 13 topographical views plus 79 double pages maps and a town plan with decorative borders designed and engraved by J. Rapkin. Some light wear to the bindings, generally very good. The maps used in this publication essentially correspond with those illustrating John Tallis' "Illustrated Atlas" of 1851.
