Silver title on quarter red cloth with grey card boards which are clean and unmarked with no wear Internally there is a small neat signature to front endpaper else clean, tight and unmarked. A Very Good + copy. Dustjacket is complete with wear to top and bottom edges. Second printing The work sets out to examine America in the decade since 1949, the results are from his daily columns in the New York Post, rearranged under dramatic captions and show how history is made of comparatively small events. The ten formative years covered include a wealth of characters including Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Alfred Kinsey, Sigmund Freud et al and the author sees America as a country on the move, in fact an unfinished country. The author is a professor who has taught at Harvard and other institutions and this work is a seminal study of America of that period.
