Light toning, else content appears as unblemished with very good dark blue, cloth covered boards displaying minor surface/edge wear. Slight bumping to head/heel of spine.

This book should be required reading in schools today. Starting out with nearly the first sentence about being a slave in the new world. The woman was white, but she was bought and sold and had no rights. I think it is so important for people to understand history and the way people thought 200 plus years ago. The book was written in 1947. That is nearly 80 years ago. The author was closer to the time when the story took place than we are today. In today's world, there is so little spoken about white people who were slaves. It is as if it has been appropriated by black people as their own. I blame those who try to help blacks by calling them "victims". Victims are helpless. Get over the past and live your life in this wonderful free country. That is what the descendants of the white slaves did.
