About This Item

This was Geoffrey Blainey's breakthrough book, and very influential in its day, and still relevent now. Everybody knows Australia is a long way from anywhere else, and also that most places in Australia are a long way from other places in Australia, with not much going on in-between. Blainey showed in this book how those facts affected the way the country developed. It's a great read, and even nicer in this folio-sized illustrated version, with some lovely plates along with pertinent black-and-white illustrations. This particular copy is in great nick, although the covers are slightly warped, probably from sitting on a car seat in the sun. I've got it in the book-press, so by the time you buy it they may be straighter...

222 pages. Colour plates, B&W photographs and drawings, notes, index. Book in good condition, covers slightly warped from being in the sun, but binding tight and text good. Dust jacket has a couple of small tears and bumps, but is in good condition otherwise. Photographs show actual book for sale. As this is a folio/heavy book, there may be additional postage charges for overseas delivery (book ships from Australia).
