Stories, sketches, essays and verses from the celebrated writer who made his way from his birthplace in Kansas to New York City and became known as "Mr. Broadway." Selected, and with an introduction, by Clark Kinnaird. Volume wrapped in jacket with color image of various fraternizing guys and dolls. --- In Toledano spine 8 / red cloth / gilt titling on black spine & cover blocks / black topstain / grey Kent endpapers / jacket style i, verso lists 405 titles in ML catalog. Likely published c.1961 (though 1958 date appears in book). ML #53.3. --- An about-Near Fine copy: clean, tightly-bound, bright and lacking apparent damages. Unclipped dust jacket ($1.95) also in great shape, though with slight chafing to edges and protected in new removable mylar wrapper.; 12mo (7 to 7-1/2 in. tall); xvi, 428, [3, ads] pages .
