About This Item
Chicago: Thomas S. Rockwell Company, 1931. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. Woodruff K. Aykroyd. Hardcover/ no DJ; VG+ condition. Appears to be First Edition, c. 1931 (same year on title page); 1st printing- no note of further ones. 12 x 9"" 61 pages of architectural sketches of lesser known European sites & street scenes. Pages are 4 sided; illustrated on 2 exterior sides, uncut at top, 2 interior sides are blank- first rate production standards. Brown cloth binding w/ tan spine is bright & square w/ just a bit of rubbing & edge wear; a faint hint of sunfade (almost missed this) to part of covers where book was next to another one- v. minor. NO fray or scuffs. All lettering crisp & intact- copy displays very well. Vintage pictorial bookplate (sailing ship silhouette) inside front cover- to me, adds to copy's appeal. Endpapers & text are tight, glossy white, clean, unmarked. NO hinge splits, NOT ex library. Handsome, well preserved copy. Interesting subject matter, well rendered & presented.
