French text, 8vo, approximately 185 x 115 mm, 7 x 4¾ inches, publisher's woodcut device on title page, a few woodcut head- and tailpieces and some decorated initials, pages: [23], 1-525, [1] Extrait du Privilege du Roi plus 2 adverts. Bound in contemporary full red morocco, gilt title and gilt decoration to spine, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. Head and tail of spine, hinges and corners very slightly rubbed, occasional brown spot to pages, otherwise contents very nice and bright, binding tight and firm. A very good copy. The attribution of this work to Pierre Nicole (1625-1695) one of the most distinguished of the French Jansenists. See: Library Hub Discover, listing 1 copy of this edition.
