After a lifetime of ill health, Lady Brassey succumbed to malaria while on another voyage to Mauritius & was buried, appropriately, in the sea she loved. This book is dedicated to "the noble band of Navigators & Explorers of all ages & every nation, who have devoted their lives to Scientific Research," in 452 pages with 220 illustrations engraved on wood by G. Pearson & J. Cooper after drawing by R. T. Pritchett. A lovely, nearly pristine,… Read More
