Illustrated with colour frontispiece, eight colour plates, sixteen back-and-white plates, and many in-text images. Collated complete. With a cut out of the front board from the very scarce original dust wrapper. An autobiography from British artist and illustrator Cecil Aldin, best known for his paintings and drawings of animals and sports. With chapters on hunting, the war years, theatrical adventures, dogs, and the golden isles. In the original red cloth binding. Externally, smart with rubbing and light bumping to the extremities resulting in light fraying to the head and tail of the spine. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front endpaper dated 1934. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
