A first UK edition copy of this delightful children's work by American author John Kendrick Bangs. The first UK edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding. Prize bookplate to the front paste down from the Primitive Methodist Sunday School in Reading, dated 1907. John Kendrick Bangs (1862-1922) was an American writer, humorist, editor and satirist. This is his children's book, containing whimsical and amusing adventures, with illustrations throughout by the American illustrator Charles Howard Johnson (1865-1896). In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally generally smart, with shelf wear to the spine and extremities. Small mark to the rear board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for offsetting to the end papers. Very Good
