Illustrator: John O''Hara Cosgrave II. preface by author. The text is illustrated with full-page black-and-white drawings by John O''Hara Cosgrave II. Green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured decoration and titles to the back strip. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by John O''Hara Cosgrave II, with brown and black coloured titles front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Black-and-white photographs of the author to the rear panel. The author wrote this expose of what it was like to be on an archaeological dig in South America  insects, no plumbing, hostile natives, interesting modes of transport and, did I mention no plumbing  when she was told innumerable times " ... how it feels to be married to a archaeologist and share such a glamorous life."  from the rear panel blurb. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Age toning of the text block edges and pages previous owners name has been placed along the front hinge area. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the back strip edges. Some small tears to the top and bottom edge of the front panel and the top edge of the rear panel. Some rubbing of the dustwrapper panel and sunning is also present. A little browning to the verso of the dustwrapper. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [6], VII -IX, [3], 3 - 234 pages,.
