About This Item

Santa Barbara : Black Sparrow Press , 1981. First edition. Hardback. Fine/Fine. 9" by 6.5". None . Edouard Roditi's collection of poems and translations, a lovely first limited edition signed by the author. A moving collection of poetry and translations by Edouard Roditi composed during the rise and fall of the Third Reich, a tribute to the author's Jewish-mystic heritage. As an American student studying in Berlin, Edouard Roditi witnessed the atrocious rise of German anti-Semitism; this inspired him to learn and celebrate his culture. The first edition of this work, limited to two hundred hardcover copies numbered and signed by the author, the present being number one hundred and ninety seven. Complete with its original clear plastic dust wrapper. In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over illustrated paper covered boards. Externally lovely. The dust wrapper is unclipped and excellent. Signed by the author to a front blank page. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean. Fine
