London, England: The Book Club, 1946. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6. The Book Club, Third Impression, July, 1946. First Published April, 1945. Hardcover Book in Good Condition. No jacket. War time novel of English life during the World War II. It was written and printed before the European War ended and before demobilization began in earnest. The suits refer to the suits given to demobilized soldiers--utility suits. Priestley says in this note to the novel that he found out that the suits were actually of excellent quality and he apologizes for the references in his novel to these suits. Clean red full cloth with black lettering on spine. Slight edgewear, corners gently bumped, spine has slight lean. Boards are somewhat flexible. Former owner name, dated Nov 1946, on endpaper. Small tear to paste-down on the lower corner by the hinge. Internals clean, a few foxing marks, no creasing. 164 pp. 5.25 x 7.5 inches. 1946, The Book Club, London, England
