Reviews
On Sep 3 2014, a reader said:
This first book in the Attolia series is fantastic and has given me a huge respect for Megan Whalen Turner. She has a totally unique blend of ancient fiction, political thriller, and alternate history. Gen, the thief of the title, is a winning character whose cleverness and impertinence have gotten him involved in a mission to steal a politically significant antiquity. The story is set in an alternate byzantine Greece which has maintained a pantheistic religion and a Herodotean political landscape. Turner's political and historical creativity make this a must-read!
