She was best known as the original puppeteer of the sock puppet Lamb Chop, first appearing on Captain Kangaroo in March 1956 and then Hi Mom, a local morning television show that aired on WRCA-TV (now WNBC-TV) in New York City. (Wikipedia) Inscribed by the author on front free endpaper: 'To Rod (McKuen) - without whom Lambchop would have had a career in verse - Love Shari Lewis.' Second printing. A near fine copy in decorated yellow cloth covers. Dust jacket with small edge chips and closed tears.
