Second Edition, "With Corrections and considerable Additions, including the Linnean order of ferns, together with essential characters and types of the genera of all the other orders or cryptogamia." 12mo (16.5cm.); contemporary half calf over marbled boards, spine gilt; mixed paginations ([A]4 2A2 B-2R4 2S-2X2). Boards rather rubbed and joints cracked but holding, else Very Good, internally fresh and fine. Unstated English translation of Sir James Edward Smith's "Compendium Florae Britannicae" (1800). Contemporary ownership inscription of James Roe of Roesborough, a 19th-century estate in Tipperary, Ireland, today a ruin.
