London: Wells, Gardner, Warton, 1895. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Gordon Browne; W. H. Groome. Quarto. 310 pages. Scarce Limited Edition (#127 / 150 Copies) SIGNED by the author and by both artists. Hardcover in bluish-green cloth with cover designs in dark blue and lettering in gilt. The binding is rubbed and bumped. The spine is toned and has some scuff marks; the spine ends are a bit chipped. An attractive bookplate on front pastedown reads "Leonard James Shrubsall." Endpapers are foxed. There is a pencilled notation on the rear flyleaf. Text is toned, has foxing throughout.
