About This Item
New York: The American Tract Society. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 24mo. 96 pages. A small book measuring 4 3/4 inches tall by 3 1/4 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original taupe publisher's cloth with cover designs embossed in blind. The binding shows light wear. The corners are sharp, and the inner hinges are secure. Some foxing to the text. Early owner's name of "John P. Cushman." This might be John P. Cushman (1784-1848) the American lawyer and politician from New York. He was a Federalist and was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives representing New York's 10th District (1817-1819). He was also a Judge of the Third Circuit Court, 1838-1844. A nice copy. We have several other books from the Cushman family.
