Paris: Les Cahiers de Paris, 1927. First edition. VG. Hardback. No DW. Exemplaire 837 of a limited edition of 1500 copies. Presented to Mill Hill School, the illustrative library plate for which is inside the front cover, in April 1929 by N. Micklem. No other inscriptions or annotations. Les cahiers de Paris, deuxième série, Cahier VII, 1927. 171 pages. Essays in French on Samuel Johnson, William Blake, Charles Lamb and Charlotte Bronte. Gilt title on spine still in VG condition as is the book itself. This is one of the earliest publications of Green who was an American citizen who nevertheless lived in France for most of his adult life. He wrote primarily in French and was the first non-French national to be elected to the Académie française. .
