The Stud is the twenty-first stand-alone novel by American author, Barbara Delinsky. Jenna McCue is the president of a large chain of successful department stores. Still single, and with no intention of getting married, she decides her life will be complete if she has a baby. Rather than take chances, she settles on a known sperm donor: her best friend's brother. Spencer Smith is a professional adventurer, always away doing something exciting.

After careful consideration, Spencer agrees to help Jenna out, but with one condition. He will donate his sperm, yes, but not in the clinical surrounds of a doctor's surgery. No, he insists on donating in the traditional way. What happens next is fairly predictable, until they get on the plane. Better than Delinsky's Bonnie Drake/Billie Douglass novels, but not as good as her later ones. Sexy and sweet.
