The first trade edition of this work, preceded by a limited edition of five hundred copies in 1924, the present printed on Royal Quarto paper. An impressive sweeping work on wildlife photography, first-hand account by Marius Maxwell, illustrating the big game of East Equatorial Africa. With a preface by Sir Sidney F. Harmer, former Director of the British Museum of Natural History. Containing a monograph on the African elephants.  With one hundred and thirteen impressive full page plates after photographs by the author, three of which are large folding capturing African elephants. With a folding map of Kenya. Collated, complete.  In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with shelf wear, spine and boards bumped to extremities, light damp marking to front and rear boards, minor loss to tail of spine and chipping to head. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with one hundred and thirteen full page photographic plates in black and white, one which three large folding, and a folding map of Kenya. Collated, complete. Good
