A near fine copy of this book featuring Montreal's Square Mile which was an enclave for the rich and powerful, a small geographic area whose inhabitants controlled two thirds of the Canada's wealth. The Square Mile was the home of Canada's commercial aristocracy - the McGills and McTavishes (furs), Molsons (beer), Redpaths (sugar), Ogilvies (flour), and scores of families that came after them to live on the shadow of Mount Royal. Illustrated throughout with b/w photographs.
