About This Item
This is the first edition, first printing, of The Spycatcher Omnibus, the first collection of the works of Lt. Col. Oreste Pinto (1889-1961), the Dutch counter-intelligent agent who worked for MI5. He was very successful and his activities led to the capture of at least 8 spies. His books were made into a radio series, then a TV series, of the same name.
He lectured and wrote about his activities and, in 1962, all of his works were gathered together in this book. The first printing (UK) was printed without a dust jacket, which is what this book is. The first US printing had a dust jacket.
It is plain green boards with gold lettering on the spine. Otherwise unadorned. The original owner put his stamp on the front endpaper--just two initials. (The numbers you see in the last photo were printed into the book.) There is the odd fingerprint and spot. Otherwise perfect condition.
