(1st) Mustard yellow cloth spine, dark blue boards with elaborate red spiral design, red lettering and design on spine bright, review from New York Times of 17 July 1988 by Bob Greene, taped insde front cover, blue ink note on first front end paper: "To Janey, May your own spiral rise gloriously higher! Best wishes from Joan Gould." 309 lightly browned pages plus a brief biographical note. DJ has beautiful design and color-illustration with woman climbing a spiral staircase, yellow background, b/w photo of Gould on back, praise from Jessica Tandy and Hume Cronyn, Leonard Michaels and others. DJ has light crease at spine top edge near top back edge. Near Very Fine DJ/Very Fine book.
