About This Item

Seattle: [The Seattle Theatre], 1928. 32x24cm, [12]pp. Illustrations, photographs. String bound in illustrated beige paper wrappers with yapped edges. Some edge wear and soiling to wrappers. Clean internally and very good.

Souvenir program from the grand opening of the historic Paramount Theatre, which in its first years of operation, was called the Seattle Theatre.  The program included works performed by the Seattle Grand Concert Orchestra, a technicolor production with orchestral accompaniment, a stage production, and closed with Bebe Daniels in "Feel My Pulse."

The theatre was funded by Paramount Pictures and was designed by Chicago architects, Rapp & Rapp, with the adjoining buildings being designed by Seattle architect, B. Marcus Priteca.

A scarce and important piece of Seattle theater history.  OCLC locates copies only at the Seattle Public Library and University of Washington.  .
