New York: George H. Doran Co., 1913. 303pp. Blue cloth boards, white titles on spine and front board. Spine titles darkened but still legible. Green, white and gold decorative scene on front board. Binding secure, spine straight, corners slightly bumped. Wear to head and foot of spine, including small missing chips at each end. Wear along edges of spine. Pages age toned but otherwise clean and unmarked. B&w photographic frontispiece. Illustrated with dozens of b&w photos by Peck. Signed and inscribed in black ink to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crowley by Peck on FFEP and dated April 6, 1916. A groundbreaking climber, Peck's South American tour book also became popular with businessmen and travelers. She's famously reported to have said, "My home is where my trunk is," a nod to her adventurous life and drive to scale ever higher peaks. . Signed by Author. First Edition. Hardcover.
