The boards are tight and straight; fairly clean; slightly shelf-cocked; spine area sunned. Marked and grubby end papers. Age-toned cut edges. The text block is in good plus condition, with firm, flat pages; grubby mostly on fore edge. With 'numerous illustrations and maps', some in colour. No dedications etc. Without jacket.

The start of book has a fold out map with other maps and illustrations throughout.
