University of Pittsburgh Press, 1972. First edition. SIGNED: A Michael S. Harper package of four items: one book, one brochure, one personal letter, and one single sheet original typed poem. Fine and bright stiff wraps with excellent spine and crisp bright text throughout. A personal copy of the poet Joseph Langland. Michael Harper has affectionately inscribed this copy to the poet Langland on the half title page with a date and his signature "Michael". as well as fully signed by Michael S. Harper on the full title page. The author has also provided his address and zip code to the table of contents along with a brochure from Scarab Press which was Clifford Burke's press, an announcement with photograph of the poet for the book "Photographs: Negatives: History As Apple Tree" (1972). Additonally, an original typed poem (one sheet) "Dead Oaks" by Michael Harper dedicated to Joseph Langland "to Joe, a man of peace - in kinship - Michael, 25 May 71" -- with a typed letter (written from New London, Minnesota) signed "Michael".
