Thompson captures 'the loves and tragedies of a young woman fighting to escape from her environment'. The book focuses upon two orphans in nineteenth century Plymouth, one of whom is driven to prostitution in order to support them. E. V. Thompson (1931-2012) was an English author who primarily wrote historical fiction and often set the plot of his books in and around Cornwall. His novel 'Chase the Wind' gained notable attention within the genre after its publication. Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with no noticeable faults. Dust wrapper is protected in a laminated cover and is in a similarly excellent condition. Internally, firmly bound.
