About This Item

NY: The Viking Press, 1974. BCE/BOMC. Hardcover_boards. Near Fine/VeryGood. 5.75"x 8.5" 153 pgs. Black boards w/white letters on spine. DJ #6395 designed by Neil Wright. Spine straight, binding tight, pages clean w/soft tone. Not x-library, unclipped (no price), unmarked. Faint foxing to bottom edge. Minimal edge wear. Residue from another dj stuck to dj. Secure ship w/track #. A car crash resulting in the accidental death of a young woman gets upgraded to murder when 53 year old San Francisco private eye Walter Brackett gets involved and goes looking for her identity but finds nothing but trouble along the way. Brackett is a "transplant". Born in England, he came to the states following WWII and, with his partner Harry Kemble, set up business/living quarters over a delicatessen called Fatty's. Business has never really boomed and recent cases have involved nothing more exciting than locating a lost dog. Source: Goodreads.
