Small octavo, 3/4 faux leather and marbled boards, pp. 315, decorative gilt spine. -- Former owners name in pencil on the first free end-paper. Light exterior wear. Binding is tight and square. -- Condition. "Joseph Alexander Altsheler (April 29, 1862 - June 5, 1919) was an American newspaper reporter, editor and author of popular juvenile historical fiction. He was a prolific writer, and produced fifty novels and at least fifty-three short stories".-wikipedia. -- "A vivid Colonial" adventure novel "of the middle of the eighteenth century.
