The deeds of Smith County are probably the most complete records available for this time period and with the marriages available in printed format from 1838-1881 these Deed Abstracts make an excellent source to try and reconstruct marriages as implied in the Deeds of Smith County for this early time period. Smith County adjoined Sumner and Wilson counties at the time of its formation..
